MIKE manages to depict more of the human experience in his 2-minute-long track “Aww (Zaza)” than most artists could with a 2-hour-long album. Here, he wrestles with the passing of his mother, anxiety, paranoia and recovery while utilizing his usual world-weary, but optimistic delivery. His lyrics are the storm, but his voice is the sunlight that peaks from behind the clouds. In a landscape of needless repetition, MIKE is a breath of fresh air.
