I’ve been a fan of producer tony seltzer since his collab album with Atlanta rapper Key!. Tony Seltzer has also produced, in my opinion, Jay Critch’s best track with “Smutty”; Seltzers beats bring the best out of the artists on them. Seltzer has a knack for producing off kilter, yet catchy hip hop beats that occupy an inviting, yet shadowy space. This is my first time coming across Wiki and at first, I was not sure what to think. The New York rapper has a unique accent and delivery; his slight lisp adds to the sparse grimy character of this album. Wiki is fully aware of his character, history, and potential. “Before I had control of what I wore, bougie bitch, but never on that snooty shit” Wiki raps on “Triple Figaro”, the first track on the album. Tony & Wiki recruit Zeloopers for “Fried Ice Cream”, a zany banger with a switch up halfway through, sampling Justin Timberlake and Timbalands “SexyBack” (as i write this I am pretty sure that is the sample used, not sure. Its cool nonetheless.) vThis track is immediately followed up with the tapes standout track, “LilyPad”, where Wiki gets honest, speaking about how his upcoming shaped him into the man he is today. The fx on this beat makes the listener think they are at a lake, watching frogs. The dreamy guitar chords and congas replacing the usual trap drums, add to the soul of this track. This album has been on repeat.
